# Authentication

> Authenticate your requests with HTTP Basic Auth.

Authentication is performed through HTTP Basic Auth. Provide your **Account ID** as the username and your **API secret key** as the password. Credentials can be found in the "API Keys" section of your Nocotax developers menu.

All requests must be made over HTTPS and must be authenticated. Your API keys carry many privileges, so keep them secret.
